CAST GLASS (faceted glass Dalle de Verre)
Cast glass is made from glass 'bricks' called dalles (pronounced dowles). One-inch thick, dalles are available clear or one of a dozen colors. They can also be cut or broken to form a design, then grouted with a neutral-colored, mortar-like product.
Providing an obscured view, cast glass panels can be used as windows, interior room dividers, shower enclosure walls or even furniture.
Cast glass has been used for centuries in churches, but because it also works well in contemporary homes, as well as with more rustic stone facades, is has experienced a resurgence in popularity.
